Lucy

This is my lovely friend Lucy! I was honored when she asked me to shoot a trio of looks for her fashion blog Her Haute Mess. Luckily I'm a dedicated fashion blog follower and have a natural aesthetic for unique settings and poses, but my perfectionist mind had me stressed capturing images of Lucy at such a fast pace! I also hadn't taken my digital camera out for, do I dare say...a year. So there was a slight learning curve as I cluelessly tried to operate my camera.

The afternoon of shooting around our hometown of Sonoma was a bit of a comedy session: Lucy used my VW Beetle as a dressing room and we learned that strangers can be complete creepers when trying to strike a pose.

Of the 300+ photos I shot, this little dozen was the most successful. I enjoyed capturing Lucy's bright smile, which is completely radiant!

Favorite!

Honorable Mention

A colleague recently informed me that I was given honorable mention in The Art of Disney Golden Books by Charles Solomon. Although completely unexpected, I would expect nothing less from the clever Charles himself. It is such an honor to share the page with so many amazing Disney and Pixar greats. A sweet reminder that my work in Publishing doesn't always go unnoticed. Thank you, Charles!

Little Liam

This is little Liam...who can resist this face?!

Liam is the son of my dear friend, Meaghan. Meaghan and I met in college while we were both on student government. She was Vice President and I was Programming Director...we both had matching Kate Spade messenger bags and totally thought we ruled the school.

It was so fun to reconnect with Meaghan and enjoy playtime with her little Liam. He's an active boy with a passion for adorable hats and kitchen utensils. It was such a joy to see Meaghan's reaction to Liam's paper face and see her proudly display it in their new home.

Golden Gate

My little 5x7 paper piece was just chosen for the SPARC gallery at Disney Consumer Products in Glendale, CA! I will soon be shipping this framed original down south. It is such an honor to share wall space with so many other amazing Disney artists!

Brandi & Patrick

My first Bride & Groom paper faces!

Brandi & Patrick

Brandi's bright reaction to her faces before the wedding!

Stunning florals...

...tea time...

and harpist!

Brandi and Patrick's wedding took place in Old Town, Sacramento, CA and was like stepping into an episode of the Gilmore Girls, so charming and so Stars Hollow!

I've known Brandi and Jessica (foxy red hair) since 6th grade!

How freakin' precious are these flower girls?

Love it!

Paper faces greet the photo booth.

My bright magenta heels were a hit!

Booze and shoes...all you ever need!

Benson

This is the adorable Benson. He is the son of my childhood friend Taryn, whom I've known since middle school. I'm pretty sure Taryn and I met in an awkward gym class...you know, the one where we were forced to dress in hideous bright green sweat shorts and run around a dirt track at 8AM. Taryn was a natural athlete, so she taught the actively-challenged little me a thing or two about Physical Education. ;)

I don't think I have ever cooed over a toddler as much as I have this little guy…Benson is a true charmer. I can't get enough of his ginger locks, chubby cheeks, and sweet personality. This was my first paper face of a youngster and the best part about it was witnessing Benson's reaction when he saw his face. He immediately smiled at his parents and danced around the room pointing to himself and his new portrait. So incredibly cute and heartwarming.

I look forward to watching Benson grow up and meeting his little sister in March!
