Disney Fan Magazine...featuring Kelly B!

My wish of being featured in a magazine has finally come true...in Japan! Kelly B can be seen in the October 2010 issue of the widely-popular Japanese Disney Fan magazine!

I had the pleasure of hosting the magazine's publisher, Kodansha at Pixar a few months ago and provided them with detailed insight into the inner workings of the studio. Kodansha was enthralled with me & my studio knowledge, so I quickly became their official tour guide! We had a great time admiring Ken's Dream House from TS3, consuming Pixar pizza, and shopping for cool clothes at the Pixar Studio Store.

Domo arigato to all my Kodansha friends!

new prints

monotype, pen, Sharpie

I'm really enjoying working in a smaller scale (these pieces are all 9" x 12"). It allows me to work out my ideas faster and the size is fun and manageable. I'm getting ready to submit a few of these for the 24th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition, an awesome SF Bay Area art show!

Carol Burnett

By now most people know I enjoy making paper faces of my favorite people. I recently went to a book signing in LA and met one of my favorite comediennes, the fabulous Carol Burnett! Carol and I share a mutual friend: Tommy Smothers. Carol is a total sweetheart...super warm & friendly. Her new book This Time Together: Laughter and Reflection is a fun read and is full of short stories about her entertainment career & personal life.

I presented Carol with my paper creation and she gasped! She was amazed at how much my (her) face looked like her, he he. She enthusiastically autographed my piece and I was beyond thrilled!

Francesca / Martha / Sharkey

My latest paper creation! Martha Stewart and her two French Bulldogs Francesca (black) and Sharkey (white).

I was first in line for a taping of Martha in NYC last week...it was AWESOME! I got seated ON THE STAGE, about 3 ft. in front of Martha! I witnessed firsthand how the domestic diva does business. Surprisingly, Martha is slightly reserved and shy. She also lives up to her mega-perfectionist ways both on and off the air. When cameras weren't rolling she was cleaning countertops, doing dishes, and instructing her crew, all while head-bopping to rap music.

Love you, Martha!

Forever MJ...A Visit to Los Olivos

The death of Michael Jackson is still so unbelievable to me. I have never mourned the death of an entertainer so heavily. His music carried me through my childhood and adolescence...and still inspires me today. What MJ shared with the world with his ENOURMOUS talent and love is something that we will never see duplicated.

The girls in my family decided to head south on the 101 to the quaint town of Los Olivos, CA, in search of Neverland, to pay our respects to MJ. The outpouring of fans and mementos at the Neverland gates was magical. The locals in town were sweet too...all dressed up for the 4th of July. It's no wonder Michael made this darling community his home.
